AJA KiStor Storage Modules are compatible with Ki Pro and Ki Pro Rack and provide the basis for powerful file-based recording and playback that replaces traditional VTRs in many production and live applications as well as providing a streamlined workflow for post-production. KiStor modules are cost-effective, reliable and fast.

Sturdy Construction

The AJA KiStor drive is encased in a tough outer shell designed to ensure the drive is inserted correctly into a Ki Pro or Ki Pro Rack for recording and playback. The tough outer casing protects the drive from the rigors of production use, keeping your valuable media safe.

Unlike typical hard drives, which are designed for a small number of repeated connections, KiStor modules use a reinforced connection that’s engineered for a high number of insertions and removals to withstand the rigors of daily use in a production environment.

KiStor drives also have a built-in USB 3.0 connection, allowing them to be plugged directly into your system for quick downloads while in the field.

Streamlined Production

Use KiStor media with compatible AJA Ki Pro file-based VTRs to record directly to ProRes or DNxHD* files. Then connect KiStor directly to your editing system and copy the files using the built-in USB 3.0 connection or use the KiStor Dock (sold separately) to connect via Thunderbolt or USB 3.0 for lightning-fast transfers. Once copied, you’re ready to work – no import or transcoding needed.* With compatible Ki Pro device

Built for the Field

KiStor modules can be formatted directly on the Ki Pro device. This allows true standalone functionality on location, without the need to connect to a host computer simply to format media.

KiStor storage modules which use an HDD (spinning disk) have lower bandwidth and
data transfer performance. Therefore, data transfers using the KiStor Dock connected via
Thunderbolt or USB 3.0 and KiStor HDD (spinning disk) media may be very similar to the
transfer performance using the built-in FireWire 800 connector on the KiStor storage
